Forum for House District 8 candidates April 24
The three candidates who are running to represent House District 8 in the state Legislature will participate in a candidate forum on April 24.
Republican incumbent Rep. Tony Brockman is running against challenger Lukas Schubert in the June primary. Democratic Beth Sibert has also filed to run for the seat.
The Evergreen Chamber of Commerce and Northwest Montana Association of Realtors are hosting the event, which will be held at the NMAR office at 110 Cooperative Way, Kalispell. It runs from 4-5:30 p.m.
Brockman began his first session in office in 2023 representing the old House District 9. The new House District 8 includes the Evergreen area stretching from Helena Flats to just south of Montana 35 along the Flathead River.
Brockman was raised and still lives in Evergreen and has said his sole job is to show up for his constituents. His efforts in the Legislature have included securing funding for the construction of sidewalks along U.S. 2 to create sidewalks for Evergreen students.
Schubert is a 2023 graduate of Glacier High School and is attending Flathead Valley Community College.
Sibert graduated from Flathead High School in 1999. A recreational therapist, she has worked for Logan Health for 19 years.
