Linda Owens, 63
Linda Mae Owens, 63 of Martin City, Montana, passed away Feb. 1, 2024. She was born April 29, 1960, in San Mateo, California, to the late Clifford Albert Davenport and Ella Mable Davenport (Maulfair).
Linda moved with her family to Montana in 1971 where she finished out her school years. She met the love of her life Jim in 1978 and married shortly after in Coram. They started their family and moved to Oregon, then Washington. With two kids in tow, they moved back to Martin City in 1992 where they made their permanent home.
She was a homemaker who had a love for everything in her life. She enjoyed the simple things life had to offer. If it involved her husband, kids or her grandkids she most certainly was smiling. Some of her hobbies included golfing, fishing, camping, pontoon boating, gardening and bird watching. She was an excellent cook who enjoyed many German recipes. She was forever wanting to feed everyone. Holidays were always very important for gathering the family. She loved to decorate the house for every holiday, Christmas being the favorite. Linda had a love for animals, often taking in the strays from the neighborhood. Taking her love for animals into her professional career she worked at Judy Johnson's Dog Grooming for many years.
She is survived by her husband of over 45 years, Jim Garfield Owens; children, David Owens and Michael Owens; seven grandchildren, Dylan, Shade, Oakley, Atreyu, Zeila, Loren, and Gavin; siblings, Connie Strey, Shirley Olsen (Tim), Russel Davenport, and Elsie Lehman; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Services will be held privately at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to, “Columbia Falls Baseball Association,” PO Box 699, Columbia Falls, Montana 59912. To send online condolences, please visit www.columbiamortuary.com.
