Boys Hoops: Genovese goes off in 4th, Whitefish boys win
WHITEFISH — Mason Genovese scored eight of his 11 points in the fourth quarter to help Whitefish pull away from Libby for a 59-43 win in Northwest A boys basketball action Thursday.
Carson Gulick had a team-high 17 points for the Bulldogs, who led 38-34 after three quarters. Gulick hit five free throws and scored seven points in the final eight minutes.
Mason Kelch added 15 points for Whitefish while Tristan Andersen had a game-high 20, including two 3-pointers, for Libby. Cy Williams added 14 for the Loggers.

RONAN — Bigfork’s Asher Knopik scored 17 points, including a big 3-pointer with 25 seconds left, and the Vikings held off Ronan in a Northwest A battle.
The Vikings (8-9 overall, 6-5 in league) held Ronan to one point in the first quarter and two in the third, but the Chiefs roared back both times and closed to 38-36 on two Tayen Edmo free throws with 58 seconds left.
Knopik hit a tough, shot clock-beating three to give Bigfork breathing room. He had eight points in the final quarter.
Edmo had 14 points for Ronan (9-7, 6-4), which played without the injured Marlo Tonasket.
