Girls Hoops: Smith’s big first half sparks Whitefish girls
LIBBY — Bailey Smith scored 25 points, Ainsley Scott added 13 and Whitefish built a big first-half lead on the way to a 61-30 win over Libby in Northwest A girls basketball Thursday.
Smith had four 3-pointers (in four attempts) and 20 points by halftime for the Bulldogs, who improved to 6-9 overall and 3-6 in league games. She finished 9 of 10 from the floor.
Addy Golden-Vincent led Libby (1-14, 0-10) with eight points.

BIGFORK — Paeten and Braeden Gunlock combined for 46 points and the Bigfork Valkyries cruised to another Northwest A girls basketball victory.
Paeten Gunlock hit six 3-pointers, five in the first half. She had 20 of her 25 points by intermission for the Vals (16-1 overall, 11-0 in league).
Braeden Gunlock hit four threes on the way to 21 points, and Ava Davey’s 13 points included one 3-pointer.
Zailee Hewankorn’s six points led the Maidens (6-10, 3-7).
