Roy Jimmerson, 96

Roy Jimmerson passed away Sunday, Feb. 4, 2024, in Kalispell, at the age of 96. He was born at home on a cold winter night on Dec. 31, 1927, near Suffolk. He grew up on a ranch near Lewistown with four brothers and four sisters, he being number six.  

Roy married Elsie Louise Parker on Nov. 4, 1950, and they had five children. He worked near the ranch where he grew up in the Salt Creek area from 1950 to 1956. He then moved his family of six to Columbia Falls where he worked at CFAC until he retired at the age of 65. Janet was born in 1960.

Roy is preceded in death by his wife of 69 years Elsie “Louise”; brothers George, Jerry and Murry Jimmerson; and sisters Jean, Faye and Iris.  

He is survived by his sister Ruth Dalton of Lewistown and his brother Richard Jimmerson of Sacramento, California, as well as more than 50 neices and nephews.

His surviving children are Dan (Connie) Jimmerson of Columbia Falls, Beci (Larry) Bodmer of Kalispell, Allen Jimmerson of Chinook, Mark (Jean) Jimmerson of Juneau, Alaska, and Janet (Curt) Konecky of Kalispell; grandchildren Mindy Bodmer (Toby) Banks of Spirit Lake, Idaho; Nat Bodmer (April) Algonquin of Illinois; Jessica Jimmerson of Kalispell; SaeRom Konecky Chakoian (Mark) of Chicago, Illinois; Seth Konecky (Jen) of Kalispell; Jael Konecky, of Bozeman; Carrie Jimmerson Albrite (Cameron) of Kalispell; Jared Jimmerson (Maddi) of Sandy, Utah; and Patrick and Lera Jimmerson of Juneau, Alaska; and great-grandchildren Maya, Rachel, Micah and Claire Bodmer (Nat), Kaitlyn Formhals (Jessica), Colton and Kayden Konecky (Seth) and Nora and Rori (Carrie)

Our dad Roy was a soft-spoken gentle spirit who loved his Lord and loved his family deeply. He loved southern gospel music, gardening and volunteering with hospice, the food bank and Meals on Wheels.  He was generous with his time and resources.  

Services for Roy will be held Tuesday Feb. 13, 2024, at 10 a.m. at Johnson-Gloschat Funeral Home in Kalispell with burial to follow at Fairview Cemetery in Columbia Falls. Johnson-Gloschat Funeral Home is caring for the family.
