Tom Elliot, 76

| February 13, 2024 12:00 AM

Tom (Thomas Clark) Elliot, 76, passed away on Jan. 25, 2024, after a 23-year battle with prostate cancer. Tom is survived by his wife of 40 years, Kathy (Kathryn Hutchison); and sons, Thomas Clark, Jr. (Tommy, wife Julya, and grandchildren Lydia, Ellen, and Callum) and Robert Braxton (Robbie) Elliot; his beloved dog, Lulu; and two grand-dogs.

He lived well, worked hard, fought bravely, loved fiercely, and cherished his family, his friends, and his dog. He was a very determined, fearless warrior in his cancer battle and was so loved. Outside of family and friends, his lifelong passions were golf and boating, especially on Flathead Lake where he would visit almost every summer.

Tom was born in California on July 27, 1947, raised in Billings and Kalispell, and received a business degree and MBS in 1970 from Arizona State University. Following college, he went to work for Xerox Corporation, then left Xerox in 1982 to pursue a career in commercial real estate. Shortly thereafter, Tom ran the national real estate arm for United Artists International, the movie theater company, located in Denver, Colorado. As the director of United Artists Realty, Tom managed five offices in New York, Dallas, Los Angeles, and San Francisco and handled all real estate acquisition, theater construction and theater furnishings for the company. Starting in 1993, Tom traveled throughout the Pacific Rim for the next five years managing the Asian theater company for United Artists.

Following a career move into the home construction and remodeling market in the Denver area for 10 years, Tom and Kathy moved to Oklahoma to live the “boating life” for several years. Seeking warmer weather, Tom and Kathy relocated to Scottsdale, Arizona, where they were living at the time of his death.

A celebration of life will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Feb. 23, at AZCC (Arizona Country Club). All are welcome. Tom requested that any memorial contributions be made to the Arizona State University men's golf team in his memory; Payee — Sun Devil Club — Men’s Golf; Memo — Memorial Donation; Address — ASU Men’s Golf, Attn: Ally Montiel, 5595 E.
