| February 21, 2024 12:00 AM

Embrace the spirit of Mardi Gras at the Flathead Food Bank's vibrant gala on Friday, Feb. 23.

The fundraising event features a festive New Orleans atmosphere with vibrant decorations, lively music and delicious Cajun-inspired cuisine. The event is 6-10 p.m. at the Red Lion Hotel, 20 N. Main St., Kalispell.

Guests will dance the night away to the sounds of a live band, indulge in captivating performances, and be swept away by the magical aura of the gala. They can also try their luck at winning raffle prizes and gift baskets while supporting the food bank’s mission to fight hunger.

The gala aims to raise funds for several food bank improvements. Including modernization and expansion of the pantry allowing the food bank to serve more individuals and families in need with greater efficiency and effectiveness.

The introduction of a commercial kitchen for the food bank will also enable it to prepare nutritious meals and offer cooking classes, fostering healthy eating habits within the community.

In addition, establishing the food bank as the local distribution hub for pantries across the Flathead and Northwest Montana. This will strengthen the food bank's impact and increase its capacity to address hunger across the region, according to the organization.

Sponsorship opportunities are available, offering businesses visibility and the chance to positively impact the community.  For tickets and sponsorship information, contact: Chris Sidmore, executive director of the Flathead Food Bank at 406-752-3663 or chris@flatheadfoodbank.com.
