Law roundup: Disagreement among teenagers revs up
A teen reportedly drove a red truck at another teen, who jumped out of the way, but was hit by the pickup’s side mirror near Flathead High School. One teen involved in the incident allegedly told the Kalispell Police Department the driver “had a beef” with his brother and he was arguing with their friends when things revved up.
A woman at home with her kids called the police because a random man wearing a hoodie was pounding on her door. She claimed the random man, who she apparently knew as a neighbor, was angry because she threw an egg at his door because “she knows that they have weapons in their house and they party all the time.” Police counseled her about her actions in yet another unfortunate case of adults behaving badly.
A man purportedly believed his family was in danger of the Sinaloa Cartel after his stepson's father received photos of decapitated heads and “other concerning things.”
A later call came in from a woman who told officers she and her husband were being followed by the cartel after her husband was spammed with the photos, which he believed were infected with malware. She alleged that “certain vehicles” were following him wherever he went. The elaborate scheme allegedly resulted in the couple wiring $3,000 to Puerto Rico. What prompted her phone call, however, was a possible sighting of a person walking through the backyard and a lot of “suspicious vehicles” driving by the house, which led her to think someone was going to break into the house. She requested extra patrol. An officer did find fresh footprints in the snow but it was unclear if they were from the residents themselves.
A vehicle hit a fire hydrant and fled the scene. Officers tried to contact a hotel in the area to check if there was security camera footage of the hit-and-run.
Someone allegedly received an alert from a security camera showing a video of two people going into a neighbor’s house that had been empty for years.
