The Glacier Wolfpack had Missoula Sentinel on the ropes Thursday, before Emily McElmurry and the Spartans broke free.

McElmurry scored eight of her 28 points in a late burst that carried the Spartans to a 56-51 Western AA win over the Pack. She came through after Glacier ate up a 45-41 deficit, getting a three-point play from Karly Allen and a free throw from Noah Fincher to tie it 45-all with 3:53 left.

Glacier (5-13 overall, 3-11 in the Western AA) had a chance to go in front, but missed, and McElmurry hit a jumper in the lane to give Sentinel the lead for good with 2:55 left.

When Glacier got a steal down just 50-47, it was McElmurry that stole the ball back for the Spartans (8-10, 5-9 league). She then hit two free throws with 55 seconds left, and two more at the :30 mark. She finished 12 of 17 from the line.

Charlotte Osler had 16 points to lead Glacier, and Fincher added 10.
