WTC holds auditions for ‘The Tin Woman’
The Whitefish Theatre Co. is holding auditions for “The Tin Woman” by Sean Grennan, their final Black Curtain production of the 2023-2024 season.
Auditions will be held on March 3 at 7 p.m. at the O’Shaughnessy Center in Whitefish. Please arrive early to fill out an audition application, fill out a waiver form, and review the script. Please enter through the north side of the building near WTC’s parking lot and conference room.
“The Tin Woman” follows the story of Joy, a woman in her mid-30s who recently received a heart transplant. However, instead of relishing her new life, Joy enters a downward spiral, unsure whether she truly deserves a second chance. Meanwhile, Alice and Hank mourn the loss of their son, Jack, whose heart was used to save Joy. When Joy decides to meet Jack’s family to find closure, their grief transforms as they finally have to accept his death. Based on a true story, “The Tin Woman” is a complex web of laughter and grief used to explore loss, family, and what it means to be given new life.
Emily Pollard is the director of this production. The cast is comprised of four women and two men. No experience or preparation is necessary to audition. Pages from the script will be provided. Scripts are available at Valley public libraries. Rehearsals for “The Tin Woman” will begin March 4 with performances on March 16 and 17.
Please note that this is a Black Curtain Reading with minimal set and costumes, and the actors will be reading from their scripts. It is a great opportunity for actors of all experience levels to get on stage.
