Arthur Dale Havens, 90
Arthur Dale Havens, 90, Buddy to his brothers and sisters and Art to the rest, was born April 16,1934 in Conrad. The second of 10 kids, he was the trouble maker.
A spot of trouble saw Uncle Sam award him an all-expensive paid trip to Korea with the U.S. Navy. After his discharge, he hired on for a 37-year career with the Great/Burlington Northern. If you think a 37-year career on the railroad might create a grumpy person, you’re right!
Dad is survived by two daughters, two sons, numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, one sister and five brothers.
As a good friend said, dad lived life his way. Whether it was a pair of striped shorts topped off with an argyle shirt, or a golf bag towel hanging off his shorts, he did it his way. The joys in his life were his grandkids. He followed them everywhere. Art was a husband, a dad, a grandpa, a brother, a daredevil, and a safe harbor in times of need.
As he was fond of saying to me, “listen bud”. Well listen dad, we’re going to miss you!
