Flathead Valley Community Band to perform in Columbia Falls

The Flathead Valley Community Band presents A Concert in the Park in Columbia Falls on July 25.  

The 7 p.m. concert at Marantette Park will feature “best-loved pieces” performed during the concert season including overtures, marches and movie medleys. The concert will also pay homage to local musician and band leader Don Lawrence, who died in March, by performing a piece he wrote for the community band. The concert will conclude with the state song, “Montana.” 

The band is under the direction of Allen Slater. The concert is sponsored by the Columbia Falls Lions. 

The nonprofit community band was formed to provide enjoyment, create a community and bring music to a wide audience.
