Patricia Murphy, 75
Patricia Nell Murphy, 75 of Whitefish, passed away on June 4, 2024.
She was born in Missoula, on Jan. 1, 1949, to parents George and Frances Dodge. She grew up in various small towns around Montana with her sister and brothers. She graduated from the University of Montana Western in Dillon with a bachelor’s degree in education. She settled in Whitefish in 1984 where she raised her daughter Jessica and worked at an accounting firm until her retirement in 2015. In 2003 Pat met and married Ron Murphy.
She was a deeply religious person and enjoyed her time spent in worship and devotion to God. She enjoyed spending time in communion with others and with her family. She was very witty with a unique sense of humor and could be counted on elevate the mood in any situation. She loved to listen to music, with the Eagles, Pointer Sisters, Elton John and Fleetwood Mac being among her favorites. She enjoyed singing and dancing and was a member of her church choir for many years. She enjoyed her Bible studies and to read the works of Jane Austen.
She was preceded in death by her parents, George Dodge and Frances Cantrell, and her younger brother, George Dodge Jr.
She is survived by her husband, Ron, his three children, and 5 grandchildren; siblings, Deanna Mathison and Jon Dodge; daughter, Jessica Curry; and grandchildren, Owen and Devyn Burwell.
She is loved by all and will be very deeply missed.
Memorial services will be held at 3 p.m. on Thursday, June 13, at Christ Lutheran Church in Whitefish.
