Don 'K' Subaru fundraiser benefits Flathead K9 Foundation

| June 14, 2024 12:00 AM

Don “K” and Subaru last month presented a check in the amount of $21,700 to the Flathead K9 Foundation because they were chosen by the employees and customers of the dealership as the 2023 Subaru Share the Love Hometown charity of the recently completed 2023 event.

Subaru Share the Love is an annual giving program. The donations come from a portion of the sale price of every new Subaru sold or leased during the November through December 2023 campaign. Buyers had a choice of charity: The ASPCA, Make-a-Wish, Meals on Wheels Association of America, the National Park Foundation, or our local hometown charity, the Flathead K9 Foundation.

In addition to the national campaign, Don “K” Subaru added $50 per Subaru sold or leased during the campaign to the total contribution that our Hometown charity receives.

The Flathead K9 Foundation is a 501c3 organization that brings the Flathead County Sheriff’s Office, the Flathead County Search and Rescue and Rescue K9s under one support umbrella. By training and working side-by-side they can seamlessly pitch in to help the communities of the Flathead and surrounding areas whenever they are needed.

The Flathead K9 Foundation currently has 12 K9 officers and handlers.

Julie Balch, president of the Flathead K9 Foundation said they will use these funds to augment training and to purchase the life and safety gear.
