Join the Flathead Valley Community Band for A Night at the Movies March 20.

Beginning with the 20th Century Fox fanfare, the performance will encompass music from silent movies to “Star Wars.”

The concert will feature music written by Michael Kamen from the movie “Robin Hood — Prince of Thieves,” including the Academy Award-nominated song “Everything I Do,” the exhilarating “Abduction” piece and “Final Battle at the Gallows.”

In a Hollywood milestones medley, performers will cover 25 years of film history from movies including “Back To The Future,” “Chariots of Fire,” “E.T.,” “Forrest Gump,” “Jurassic Park,” “Apollo 13,” “Raiders March,” “Star Trek” and “Love Story.”

A Disney movie medley will include classics such as “Zip-A-Dee-Doo-Dah,” “A Dream Is a Wish Your Heart Makes,” “Never Smile at a Crocodile,” “Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious,” “Bare Necessities,” “Under the Sea,” “Be Our Guest,” “Beauty and the Beast,” “A Whole New World,” “Friend Like Me,” “Circle of Life,” “Can You Feel the Love Tonight,” “This Land” and “Colors of the Wind.”

From the blockbuster movie “Pirates of the Caribbean” comes a soundtrack filled with excitement, drama and power. An arrangement by John Wasson recreates the movie’s marvelous themes using a concert band.

Several marches are also on the set list from movies such as “Patton,” “The Great Escape” and “How the West Was Won.”

The Flathead Valley Community Band is under the direction of Allen Slater.

The free concert starts at 7:30 p.m. in the Flathead High School auditorium, 644 Fourth Ave W., Kalispell. Donations will be accepted to cover costs. A reception will be held after the concert.
