| November 10, 2024 12:00 AM

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Marge Schauble, 90 of Columbia Falls — who died peacefully on Oct. 25, 2024. Marge was born on Jan. 23, 1934, in Lancaster, Minnesota. She was the youngest of the family along with twin brothers born to Victor and Margaret Nelson. The family moved to Lake Bronson, Minnesota in 1944 and then to Libby in 1948.

She graduated from Libby High School in 1952 and then attended Concordia College in Morehead, Minnesota, where she graduated with a degree in education. She returned to Montana and taught elementary school in Whitefish where she met and married Rollin Schauble and raised a family of four children in the Flathead Valley.

Marge was active in volunteering and supporting community events including the initial years for the Whitefish Winter Carnival. While focusing on raising the family, she continued supporting children across the Flathead Valley as a kindergarten teacher/volunteer, Brownie Scout leader and substitute teacher at the local elementary schools.

She enjoyed arts and crafts, music and getting out to visit and meet new friends. For those who knew Marge, she is described as someone who was always genuine and unapologetically herself. She had an adventurous spirit and was passionate about others and in knowing them well. With her happy-go-lucky personality and infectious laugh, Marge would make friends with everyone. She listened well and would be thoughtful and supportive in such a beautiful way. Marge was generous in her love and compassion and was described as having the purest soul.

She is survived by her brother, Dennis Nelson; children, Susan (Ross) Lukkason, Paul (Sherry) Schauble, Jill Jacobson, Bruce (Lorna) Schauble; grandchildren, Traci Lukkason, Joy Lukkason, Amy Schauble, Jacqueline Cook, Joshua DeMotts, Branden DeMotts, Jusup Jacobson, Anja Jacobson, Abigail Schauble, Courtney Schauble; great-grandchildren, Wyatt and Haze Jacobson, Zoey and Elliana Lopez, and Harper Cook; along with numerous nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Rollin Schauble; brother, Donnal Nelson; and sister-in-law, Frances Nelson.

Graveside services will begin at 1 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 15, at the Conrad Memorial Cemetery in Kalispell, followed by a reception with family and friends at the Buffalo Hill Funeral Home in Kalispell.
