Concerts showcase the emotion of Nordic music
Bringing the power, grace and emotion of Nordic music to life, Glacier Symphony and Chorale presents “Finlandia!” concert this week.
The concert takes place Nov. 16 at 7:30 p.m. and Nov. 17 at 3 p.m. at the Wachholz College Center on the campus of Flathead Valley Community College.
The evening features internationally renowned violinist Rachel Barton Pine as the soloist performing with the orchestra.
This concert showcases Jean Sibelius’s iconic works, highlighting his beloved “Finlandia,” a hymn-like tribute to the composer’s homeland that has become a beacon of Finnish pride and resilience. The program is an emotional journey through Sibelius's deeply evocative soundscapes, exploring the grandeur of Nordic landscapes, national spirit, and timeless beauty.
