Denim Gold duo performs for Press Play concert Dec. 6
Singer-songwriters Hannah King and Michelle Rivers met in 2019 when competing against each other in a talent competition.
They became friends and collaborated on each other’s music before officially deciding to join forces as the duo Denim Gold performing American country with a modern folk flair and a touch of bluegrass roots. They will perform Dec. 6 for the Daily Inter Lake’s lunchtime concert series Press Play.
King and Rivers describe their sound as “Americana music that feels kinda like your favorite pair of jeans and the sun on your skin at the golden hour.”
Montana born and raised, King is a national fiddle champion who writes heartfelt songs with soaring melodies. Rivers was born in Nashville and has spent decades honing her songcraft.
Earlier this year, they launched a successful Kickstarter campaign to record their debut album with eight original songs. The duo’s first big performance together was at the Under the Big Sky music festival last summer where they performed their original song “Under The Big Sky Night.”
Denim Gold performs at noon on Dec. 6 for Press Play at the Daily Inter Lake. Subscribers can join for a unique music listening experience by donating to the Newspapers in Education initiative.
Concertgoers can bring lunch or purchase lunch from The House of S&M.
