Columbia Falls soccer sweeps Stillwater Christian

Maxwell Everett scored twice as Columbia Falls defeated Stillwater Christian in boys soccer 5-2 Tuesday.

Silas Ypma put the Wildcats (10-0) on the board first just two minutes into the game off the assist from Isak Soyland. 

Otto Anderson and River Wolford added goals in the first half for Columbia Falls to grow the lead to 3-0. 

Stillwater Christian got on the board in the 51st minute as Micah Strobel found the back of the net. 

Everett’s Brace in the second half sealed the deal for the Wildcats, putting them up 5-1 with 20 minutes left. 

Strobel added his second for Stillwater Christian in the 69th minute.

Columbia Falls girls 10, Stillwater Christian 0

Bella Mann scored three times and Riley Byrd added two goals and two assists as Columbia Falls defeated Stillwater Christian 10-0 Tuesday. 

Byrd found her first in the 25th minute for the WIldkats (7-2-1) second goal — Isla Anderson scored the opener six minutes in — and started a run of five goals into the half for Columbia Falls. 

Annika Johns scored in the 35th minute to extend the lead out to 5-0. 

“It was awesome to see Annika Johns get the first varsity goal of her career and for Bella Mann to get a hat trick,” Wildkats coach Thomas Clark said. “Every player is contributing to our success and that’s such a cool thing to see as a program.” 

Out of the half Alexander added her second of the game before Mann completed her hat trick. 

Byrd and Taryn Borgen rounded out the scoring for Columbia Falls to seal the 10-0 victory.

Whitefish boys 10, Bigfork 1

Griffin Gunlikson scored twice and the Whitefish boys defeated Bigfork 10-1 Tuesday. 

Gunlikson scored in the sixth and 10th minutes to put the Bulldogs up 2-0, three more goals gave Whitefish a 5-0 halftime lead. 

Out of the break Preston McPherson kept the Bulldogs scoring going with his second of the day. 

Henry Barbieri added another in the 63rd minute before Bigfork found their lone goal through Robert Merchant.
