Law roundup: Woman allegedly tries igniting yard decor
A man called the Kalispell Police Department alleging that a woman tried to light lawn decor on fire in his front yard after finding burnt matchsticks near a metal planter. He said there was no damage, however, he was suspicious the woman was the culprit because she was on probation. Officers said they would provide extra patrol in the area.
A man reportedly offered someone mushrooms and ran off.
A youth called the police claiming someone punched him and kicked him in the groin then took off in a pickup. When officers called the alleged assaulter he said he was just messing around with his friend and never hit him. When officers confronted the caller about the alleged incident he said it was a prank phone call to get his friend in trouble and that he wasn’t assaulted. Officers counseled him about false reporting and stood by while he made the phone call apologizing to his friend and advising his parent about the situation.
Four prescription bottles were reportedly found next to an empty stroller on a pedestrian path. Police located and collected the prescription medications that were scattered on the ground, and seeing a familiar name on the label, brought them to the jail where a man was being held.
A resident allegedly thought a tan man wearing a green puffy coat and “very white” sneakers was pretending to campaign in the neighborhood and became nervous when he asked about the former homeowner.
A woman wearing a black tank top and pajama pants, who was reportedly under the influence of a substance, was heard swearing and found trespassing at a location by a property manager. She was taken to jail.
Someone was suspicious a child on the back of a bus needed help when she purportedly tapped on the window and opened and closed her palm with “a blank, sad expression on her face.”
A man in his 20s allegedly driving a Toyota 4Runner was swerving, tailgating and passing other vehicles then got out, “fist bumped the air” and jumped on a car on Montana 35.
A white SUV, a truck and another vehicle received tickets for reportedly parking between “no parking” signs on a blind corner.
