Engellant closes strong to win Whitefish Triangular

Glacier senior Sam Engellant birdied his final three holes to finish 3-under and win the Whitefish Triangular by three shots Tuesday at Whitefish Lake Golf Club. 

Engellant led by one stroke over Wolfpack teammates — and brothers — Tanyon and Torren Murray. Tanyon finished second, shooting an even-par 72; Torren finished in third at 1-over. 

Dylan Morris topped the Flathead players on the leaderboard with a round of 77 to finish tied for fourth with Glaciers Luke Nelson. 

Otto Klein shot 80 to lead the Whitefish team and finish tied for sixth. 

The Wolfpack won with 291, the Bulldogs finished second with 327 and the Braves third at 345. 

In the girls competition Stella Jaffe shot 91 led an all-Whitefish top three, defeating teammate Karlee Brown by one stroke. Rhylee Scott rounded out the podium six shots behind. 

Kendall Tkachyk and Abbi Townsend led the way for Glacier, finishing tied for fourth. 

Kyrie Gislason finished in sixth to lead the Bravettes squad that had two players finish their rounds. 

Whitefish won the team competition shooting 386, Glacier followed with 420.
