Donna "Donut" Lynn Andrews, Jan. 1, 1961 — Aug. 30, 2024.

Donna Lynn Andrews, affectionately known as "Donut," was born on January 1, 1961, in Kalispell, to Jerry and Deloras Peters. Donna's arrival marked a joyful start to the new year as she was celebrated as the first baby of 1961, weighing in at a robust 10 pounds, and 1 ounce. Her birth was even commemorated with a photograph in the local newspaper.

She grew up in the beautiful Flathead Valley, enjoying a childhood filled with days spent swimming in Flathead Lake. She was raised alongside her siblings, Rollie, Fred, Mary, Joe, and Phyllis, and cherished her role as the mascot at Somers School while her sister, Mary, cheered. Donna continued her love for cheering at Flathead High School, where she was known for her vibrant personality and stunning beauty.

In 1981, Donna welcomed her daughter, Tory, followed by Tasha in 1983. Shortly after, she was diagnosed with a challenging mental illness. Despite the difficulties she faced, Donna found solace and friendship as part of the Lamplighter community, where she spent many days surrounded by those who cared for her.

Her spirit shone brightest in the simple pleasures of life. She cherished family gatherings at Grandma’s house, where she would sneak out to the garage for a cigarette, and always looked forward to a trip to McDonald’s for her favorite #7 meal. Her happiest moments were marked by laughter, especially when she saw her grandchildren and their pictures.

Donna's family finds comfort in knowing that she is now at peace, free from the mental and physical challenges she bravely faced for so many years. She has joined her beloved father, mother, older brother Rollie, and brother-in-law Tim in eternal rest.

She is survived by her siblings, Fred, Joe and Lynda Peters, Mary Nicholls, and Phyllis Friske; her daughters and their families: Tory, Chad, and Abigail Graham; and Tasha, Jake, Isaac, and Grace Gall.

The family extends their deepest gratitude to the staff and friends at the Lamplighter and the Whitefish Care and Rehab for their years of love and care.

Arrangements are being handled by Buffalo Hill Funeral Home. In accordance with Donna's simple life, no services will be held. The family thanks everyone for their support and prayers during this time.
