Ashley Creek park

I am thrilled about the gift of a park to Kalispell. Thanks to the Bibler Family Trust and the leadership of Carol Bibler and Jim Watson, our community will be blessed with a beautiful park.

Carol talks about how her father Sam Bibler loved watching children play in parks. He brought so much beauty to Kalispell with the gardens around the Conrad Mansion, and the spectacular Bibler Gardens. Now his legacy lives into the future with the gift of a park to our community.

Over the next several years, we will see the 20 acres of Bibler property situated to the east of the U.S. 93 Bypass and along Ashley Creek become a beautiful green space with gardens, picnic areas, walking trails and a playground. With so much new development on Kalispell’s west side, families will have opportunities to experience nature right outside their door.

With the park’s close proximity to downtown schools, teachers can easily bring their students to the park for recreation and for environmental studies.

Carol Bibler predicts that at least part of the park will be open in 2026. We can all look forward to this wonderful addition to our community. Thank you!

A do-nothing vice president

Shortly after the horrific shootings at a school in Georgia, Vice President and the Democratic candidate for president Kamala Harris stood before a crowd of supporters in New Hampshire saying, “we’ve got to end this epidemic of gun violence.”

What specific ideas did she have toward that goal? She offered none.

To many of us, this is a repeat of what she had to offer as President Joe Biden’s appointed role to stem the flow of illegal immigrants flooding across our border with Mexico. The media called her the border czar. She never offered any real suggestions on how to end this invasion.

In her New Hampshire remarks, she talked about touring for months of meetings last year on college campuses where she asked the students their thoughts on preventing gun violence. She offered none of their thoughts in her remarks.

What she didn’t tell the crowd and the media was that last year that Joe Biden created a new “Office of Gun Violence Prevention” and announced that his Vice President Kamala Harris would be overseeing it.

What has she done it that role? What has that office done and spent to achieve gun violence prevention?

Border czar, gun czar — the results are the same. She offers nothing and does nothing, but in discussing the shootings, she announced that she was going off script and shouted “I love Gen Z. I just love Gen Z.” Apparently she looks at them as possible voters not possible victims.

America deserves better. America deserves answers. America deserves better leaders.
