Jacob O'Farrell, 44

| September 22, 2024 12:00 AM

Jacob O’Farrell returned to his heavenly Father after a long and difficult battle with chronic illness. Throughout his struggle, his love and zeal for adventure and life never wavered. Whenever asked how he was doing, he would always respond with a big smile and a cheerful “doing good.”

Jacob had a gift for making friends wherever he went, and his infectious, fun-loving attitude could light up any room. He was passionate about adventure — whether hunting, fishing, water skiing, or pulling off fearless stunts that left his family both thrilled and anxious. Jacob’s adventurous spirit took him from his small-town roots in Montana to the Oregon coast, where his mischievous smile won over the love of his life, Carey. She fell for the “cowboy from Montana that couldn’t sit a pony," who had a heart as big as his adventurous spirit.

Family meant everything to Jacob. He cherished his role as a husband and father to two wonderful children, Jaxon and Abby. The dad that never grew up, he taught them the joys of childhood while instilling values of love, kindness, and compassion. A dedicated worker and builder, Jacob’s love for his family was evident throughout their home.

With a heart of gold, he would do anything for anyone. To know Jacob was to love him, and he will be deeply missed by all who experienced his warmth and zest for life. As a beloved son, brother, husband, father, and friend, he made the world a brighter place and left us far too soon.

Friends and Family are invited to join in celebrating Jacob’s bright and beautiful life on Friday, Sept. 27 at 1 p.m. for a memorial service and reception at Bigfork Chapel, 290 Swan Highway, Bigfork.
