| September 22, 2024 12:00 AM

Scott Michael Jackson, 54, our beloved son, brother, father and grandfather passed away on Monday, Sept. 16, 2024, at his home in Missoula from complications of open-heart surgery.

He was born April 13, 1970, at St Patrick’s Hospital in Missoula to Michael and Darcy Jackson. As a young boy, he lived in Great Falls and moved to Kalispell at 3 years old. His younger years were spent camping, fishing, swimming and waterskiing. He loved baseball and was the opening pitcher in the 13-year-old state all-star tournament in Anaconda. He graduated high school in 1988 and went on to attend DeVry School of Technology in Phoenix. He then worked at Kmart where he met his wife, Tanya Shinabarger. They were married in 1993 and had a son, Taylor. Scott then went to work at Plum Creek Timber Company. At 30 years old he became a licensed commercial electrician with IBEW 768, which he did for the next 24 years.

Scott loved music and sang and played his guitar with various small bands throughout Montana. He had a beautiful voice. He also loved the woods and was an avid hunter, camper, and fisherman. He had a zest for life and a contagious sense of humor. He made friends easily and had many.

He is survived by his son, Taylor Jackson; grandsons, Trevyn and Beckham Jackson; sister, Becky Jackson; mother, Darcy Albert and husband, Bob; father, Mike Jackson and wife, Sherrie; and many aunts, uncles and cousins.

A memorial service will be held from 1-4 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 12, at the Eagles Lodge in Kalispell.
