Barbara 'Barbie' Mckay, 60

Barbara Ellen McKay, affectionately known as "Barbie," passed away Sept. 13, 2024, in Whitefish, at the age of 60. Born on July 23, 1964, in Bowman, North Dakota, she was the beloved daughter of Floyd and Janie Steig. Barb was a devoted mother and grandmother, and her proudest accomplishments were her children and grandchildren. 

She is survived by her husband, Reid Thilmony; her loving children and grandchildren, Brad McKay and son Wyatt, Kevin McKay, Brody Thilmony, Brittney O’Neil and her husband Jordan, their son Gavin and daughters Lucy and Zoe, Chancy Thilmony, his wife Karen and their daughter Alice; as well as her niece, Alicyn McConnell, who Barb considered as her own, her husband Karl, their daughters Karcyn and Macyn and son Dexter; as well as her siblings Kris Steig, Vaughn and Jeri Murinko and children, as well as  Brian and Mandy Steig and daughter Joette Steig. 

Barbara will be deeply missed and remembered for her laughter, love, and the countless stories she shared.

A celebration of life will be held at 6 p.m. on Sept. 28, at the Whitefish Armory.
