Bibler art collection on display at FVCC
The Wanda Hollensteiner Art Gallery at Wachholz College Center is hosting an exhibition of the Bibler Collection of Inuit Art.
The extensive collection was compiled by the late Sam and Jean Bibler, and will be lent to the gallery through the generosity of the Bibler Family Trust.
The artwork includes carved stone sculptures and original prints made by Indigenous Inuit artists, primarily in the region of Kinngait, Canada. Kinngait was formerly known as Cape Dorset, and is a remote village on Dorset Island at the north end of Hudson Bay, Nunavut.
The public is invited to an opening reception Monday, April 7, from 5-7 p.m. The show will be open to the public from April 6 through May 31 during regular gallery hours of 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. weekdays, and to ticket holders for events at McClaren Hall at the Wachholz College Center in Kalispell.
