Law roundup: SUV doubles as doggy day care
A pet owner had to work out new arrangements for their dog after a passerby spotted it inside a parked vehicle and phoned the Kalispell Police Department to report animal cruelty. The dog had been inside a gold Chevrolet Trailblazer left in a parking lot for more than an hour, the caller said. The windows were cracked and it looked as though the pooch was trying to break out or get some fresh air. The police tracked down the pup's owner, who agreed to keep it with his mother-in-law while he and his wife worked going forward.
Concerned about the young guys in a four-door Chevrolet truck driving recklessly, including up on the sidewalk, and tailgating him, a motorist asked the authorities give them a reminder of the rules of the road. Officers found the offending vehicle and gave the driver a warning.
Two women resting in the shade in public struck a passerby as suspicious. They told the police that it looked as though one was passed out. Officers found the pair and determined they were OK and not committing any crimes.
