Law roundup: Family told to get their house in order
The Kalispell Police Department received more than one complaint about a screaming male and female. One caller allegedly heard the pair screaming about a dog and something else from a playground and said it was a frequent issue. Officers counseled the involved parties, who were in their teens, advising their parents about the city’s disorderly house ordinance.
A woman in her 40s or 50s with waist-length hair was reported missing by a camp host after she didn’t return to the campground and check in and her belongings were still there, but the rusty Jeep she was driving was gone. The caller said she was having mechanical issues and that the vehicle had an Alberta license plate. She reportedly didn’t return because she was in jail after being arrested by the Montana Highway Patrol.
Loud music coming from a garage had reportedly been playing for 72 hours and a woman became suspicious when she didn’t see any activity from the residents, alleging a woman who lived there had been arrested for drugs several times. Officers contacted the homeowner, who said that if there was a woman and it turned out to be his sister, she was not supposed to be on the property. Officers found the garage unlocked and unoccupied and turned off the radio. The homeowner planned to change the locks.
A woman in her 40s who was carrying a black duffel bag allegedly showed up at a location where a children’s camp was going on and repeatedly asked for job applications and kept trying to talk to the kids. The person running the camp thought it was suspicious. Parties were counseled.
A man was allegedly seen grabbing his dog by the collar and hitting it with a leash, causing it to squeal. The person calling in the animal cruelty complaint said they had seen him and the dog around the apartment building before.
A grandparent complained that a woman standing on the corner of an intersection made “inappropriate comments” toward her grandchildren as they rode past her on their bicycles.
Someone went to the Police Department to assist a friend in reporting a stolen Honduran passport. They were given a lost or stolen ID or passport letter for travel.
