Lakers, Twins, Mariners have All-State picks

One player each from the Kalispell Lakers, Mission Valley Mariners and Glacier Twins was named All-State for Class A American Legion baseball in Montana.


The Lakers’ Tait Orme, Mission Valley’s Cole Wadsworth and Nolan Amerman of the Twins made up three of the seven West A players that landed All-State honors. 


The state champion Bitterroot Red Sox had two selections, while the Bitterroot Bucs and Cranbrook Bandits out of British Columbia had one each. 


Orme hit .415 for the 35-27 Lakers, with a .516 on-base percentage, two homers, 15 steals and 40 runs batted in. Wadsworth hit .391 with a .454 OBP, 21 RBIs and 51 runs scored for the 25-23 Mariners. Amerman hit .451 with 23 steals and 17 extra-base hits, including five home runs, in 36 games with the Twins. 


The Lakers also saw George Schwan and Max Schara named all-West A; also making all-district were Aidan Rose and Bransen Holzer of the Libby Loggers.
