Law roundup: Search underway for missing plant
A man called the Kalispell Police Department looking for a plant that he thought officers may have put into the property closet for him when he was arrested in June. Officers searched for the plant but didn't find it entered as property at the department or outside the building.
A woman, who identified herself as the Flathead County public information officer, called police alleging there were several threatening posts made last week on the county’s Facebook page, which she believed had some credibility to them. She also reported the threats to Facebook. Officers planned to review the information and provide updates as needed.
A person was found sleeping in a gated children’s area by someone who had an event there starting soon and requested that they be moved along. Officers also advised the Flathead County Sheriff’s Office about the call.
An officer responded to a property owner’s allegation that people staying in a camper on his property without permission were refusing to leave when asked. When no one answered the door and the officer noticed a smell emanating from the camper, the officer cleared it without finding anyone inside. The officer left a voicemail for the possible owner of the camper, stickered a notice to move it within 72 hours and informed the property owner they could have it towed away.
Officers picked up a purse someone had found outside a small brown building next to a bank. Officers made contact with the purse owner’s father, who said it was taken a couple of days ago.
A matted shih tzu reportedly wandered into The Landings construction area off Teton and was “out and about” for most of the morning. The dog was taken to the shelter.
A charcoal gray SUV allegedly kept crossing the center and shoulder lanes. Another driver with a dash camera called the police, offering to provide recorded footage if needed.
