Letters for Aug. 21

Going backward

So is racial bigotry to be the official policy of the USA?  Is the progress that we made since the Civil War to be abandoned?

Is it now against the law to be brown or Black or poor?

I was born in 1936, and I have never in my 89 years been so fearful for my country's future.  President Trump's attempts to take our country backward will not affect me that much, but I have grandkids and great-grandkids who are at risk of being severely damaged by this.

The hypocrisy abounds

In response to the Aug. 17 letter “restoring common sense,” you mentioned that former Vice President Kamala Harris and former President Joe Biden were all for letting rapists into the country. Have you not watched the news ever?

The guy you supported has been accused of sexual assault more than anyone I can think of. Lawsuits dropped because teen girls were getting death threats. Verbally abusing anyone he feels worthy of his vocal vomit. It is lost on me how all these so-called men who have wives and daughters as well as sons are pretending like this is how you should act.

You can say all you want about liberals, but stop trying to characterize everybody as a rapist. Jeffrey Epstein was arrested under President Donald Trump, supposedly killed himself in prison under Trump, and then Trump said he would release the files but now he won’t. And now he will make those files disappear because he’s all over them. And anyone with a brain knows it.

For the record former President Bill Clinton, Trump and anybody else who went there and did bad things should go to jail forever. Every Democrat I know agrees with me. Do you sir?
