Volleyball: Glacier 1-2, Flathead 0-3 on first weekend

Glacier’s volleyball squad got through its opening weekend 1-2, handing the Great Falls High Bison a four-set loss on Saturday.

On Friday Gallatin beat the Wolfpack in three sets, and Great Falls CMR prevailed in three sets on Saturday. 

Madi Stevens’ four aces and Marlo Carpenter’s eight kills helped push Glacier over the Bison, 25-23, 15-25, 25-16, 25-23. 

Allie Krueger added another seven kills and Addison Thramer had 13 digs. 

In their 25-19, 27-25, 25-16 loss to CMR, Grace Lingle and Allie Krueger had nine kills each to lead the Wolfpack; Thramer had 13 digs. 

On Friday, Stella Bayard had five kills and 11 assists and Thramer came up with six digs in a 25-14, 25-8, 25-16 loss to the Raptors.

  

Flathead drops pair Saturday, falls Friday

Also Saturday, Flathead dropped both its matches with the Great Falls schools though the Bravettes pushed Great Falls High to four sets. 

The CMR Rustlers prevailed 25-11, 24-14, 25-10 and the Bison won in four sets. 

Against CMR, Makenna Aldrich led with three kills and Katie Manning supplied five digs. Cheyenne Heino had five assists and one block. Addison Thornsberry supplied another block, and Raegan Castillo had two aces. 

Against Great Falls High Bristol Lenz and Olivia Neva each had seven kills, and Anna Bain bumped up 17 assists. Heino had two aces, Emy O’Dell two blocks and Manning, 15 digs. 

On Friday, Bozeman High scored a straight sets victory 25-17, 25-14, 27-25. 

Aldrich and Lenz had six kills each in that one, and Lenz also had two blocks while Aldrich served three aces. Heino had eight sets assists and Bain, 6. Manning’s 10 digs led the team.
