Letters to the editor Dec. 15

Informed and entertained

I awoke this morning and found myself looking forward to the word jumble, along with many other features of the Daily Inter Lake, and just wanted to say thank you!

When so many other papers have folded or have been absorbed (and thus de-personalized) by larger papers, thank you for hanging in there. And, not just online but in print for those of us who are not “screen people and prefer the feel and accessibility of a hard copy.

From national and local news to Casey Kreider’s beautiful photos, “How to Cook a Turkey” by second-graders, the round-up, local events calendar, celebrating and highlighting local business, students, veterans and members of the community in general ... I could go on, you keep us connected, informed and entertained. I’ve heard it said, “the death of a newspaper is the death of the town/community” it once served. Thank you for keeping us “alive” in so many ways.

And, a belated Congratulations on being the state’s best newspaper. Keep up the good work! And, a very Merry Christmas to all who help make the Daily Inter Lake happen and who faithfully deliver it to our door each morning. Again, thank you.
