Lady Pirates, Maidens pick up Friday wins

Polson’s girls were among the Northwest A winners as crossover basketball tournaments continued across the state Friday, with the Lady Pirates triumphant in Hamilton. 

Bigfork, Libby, Ronan and Whitefish also won Friday, while Columbia Falls and Browning dropped games. 

Boxscores were not made available for some games..

HAMILTON — Rylee Taylor-Jefferson hit three 3-pointers on the way to 20 points for Polson.

BROWNING — Kaily Marengo hit three 3-pointers on the way to 16 points for the Maidens; Neveah Perez had four big fourth-quarter points and finished with 14. 

Nefertiti Stewart's two free throws with 17 seconds left were the difference. She finished with nine points.

BUTTE — Avery Orme poured in 23 points, six coming in the fourth quarter to help the Bulldogs hold Glendive at Bay. 

Orme four free throws in the final frame, two big ones coming in the final 35 seconds. 

Allie Shors had 17 points, 10 rebounds and five assists for Whitefish.
