Law roundup: Explosion blows hole in resident’s front door
A woman was reportedly jolted awake by the sound of an explosion and the smell of smoke. When she got up to see what the noise was, she heard tires screeching and found a hole in her front door and thought someone had shot a firework at it. She told Kalispell Police Department officers there was a video of a blue or green Dodge pickup racing away. Officers saw a large hole under the door, black singe marks and debris. They also saw holes in her porch roof that could have been from concrete debris
A man, who had a history with law enforcement, allegedly shot a gun in the direction of his ex-girlfriend, left in a red Ford truck and called her son, threatening he would “come back and shoot her again.” Officers located a 9 mm casing in a back alley. He was arrested.
A bearded man wearing a large white blanket as a robe was allegedly “caught looking at inappropriate materials” on a library computer and refused to leave when asked by employees who called the police to kick him out.
A chainsaw reportedly fell off a man’s pickup on Main and Center Street.
Someone purportedly had two shoplifters “surrounded” and the man and woman weren’t handing over the stolen items.
