Ronan, Browning girls lead at Western A wrestling

BROWNING — Defending girls A wrestling champions Ronan lead after one day of the Western A wrestling divisional Friday with host Browning in second. 

Fifteen of the nineteen Maidens who made the trip remain alive for individual championships, including defending state champions River Cote and Terza Two Teeth. 

Ronan sits at 79 points with Browning at 53.5, Frenchtown sits in third at 42. Polson is fifth at 39 points with Columbia Falls sixth (34). 

Frenchtown leads the boys team competition with 115 points with Libby (111), Columbia Falls (107.5) and Ronan (104.5) right behind. 

Libby’s Riley Orr and Columbia Falls’ Blaise Cronk took care of business quick in their first two matches. Orr picked up a pin of Bigfork’s Noah Rust in 16 seconds after an opening round bye. Cronk took 26 seconds to pin Browning’s Kane Burke and followed that up with a 28 second pin of Dillon’s Quirt Crafton.
