Law roundup: Neighbor knows what man’s done since last summer
Since last summer, a young man’s “excessively loud” vehicle had allegedly served as a neighborhood alarm clock, waking everyone up around 5:45 a.m. A woman said she tried to write a note to him about it and didn’t want him to get in trouble, but nothing had changed and she wanted the noise to stop. A Kalispell Police Department officer advised her to call while the truck was on so they could listen and see if there were any violations.
An attorney for an insurance agency contacted police after a man reportedly left threatening emails and voicemails at the office that included statements about buying chemicals from a hardware store and putting them in the law firm’s HVAC system to “gas out” their office. The attorney reportedly said the man was involved in a motor vehicle accident and the payout process had taken several months, concluding with an approximately $500,000 payment. The attorney allegedly didn’t want officers to contact the man, expressing hope he would, “Find something else to fixate on.”
