Vikings fall in OT in Polson; Vals roll at home
POLSON -— Malakai Curley hit three 3-pointers and scored 19 points, Cason Graham added 17 and Polson outlasted Bigfork 62-59 in overtime Tuesday in Northwest A boys basketball.
Curley hit all of his threes in the second half, and two in the fourth quarter for the Pirates (5-4 overall, 2-1 in the Northwest A). Then with 2.1 seconds left in regulation he hit three free throws to tie the game at 51-all and send it to OT.
There, teammate Cody Haggard converted an offensive rebound into an old-fashioned three-point play to put the Pirates ahead 60-57 with 19.1 seconds remaining. Two Curley free throws capped the scoring with 6 seconds left.
Austin Savik had a game-high 25 points for Bigfork (3-6, 1-1 in league), including four 3-pointers. He scored 17 points after halftime, hitting 7 of 8 free throws.

BIGFORK — Braeden Gunlock poured in 28 points and the Bigfork Valkyries used huge first and third quarters to dispatch Polson in Northwest A girls basketball.
Gunlock hit four 3-pointers, three during her 16-point third quarter in which she also converted three-point play the hard way. Her sister Paeten Gunlock added 15 points and Keni Wade had 13 for the Vals (7-2 overall, 3-0 in the Northwest A).
Rylee Taylor-Jefferson scored 13 points to lead Polson (4-5, 2-1 in league).
