Flathead wrestlers win 3 duals Tuesday

MISSOULA — A trip to Missoula netted three lopsided dual wins for the Flathead wrestling program Tuesday, with the Brave Brawlers winning twice and the Bravettes once.

Coy Miller (132 pounds) and Kohen Riley (190) both picked up two pins on the day as the Flathead boys beat Hellgate 74-6 and Big Sky 61-12. Several wrestlers got forfeit wins as both Missoula schools had a lot of open weights; among those getting wins on the mat were heavyweight Jakob Berry, Dennis Ward at 165, Loki Bigras at 175 and Dawson Hamland at 118. 

“We wrestled a lot of our ‘Killer B’s’ who are really improving and getting tough,” Flathead coach Jeff Thompson said. “We are trying to get these guys ready for Divisionals and believing they can compete with anyone in the state. Lots of great mat time for sure.” 

The Bravettes beat Big Sky 66-12 via the fall: Eight of their wins came by pin, and three more by forfeit. hey had just one match settled on the mat against Hellgate — Josie Olszewski scored a pin over Olive Hoffman — and the results of that dual were recorded as a 6-0 win on trackwrestling.com.
