Gary Johnson, 78

Gary Wayne Johnson, 78, died June 23, 2025, in Phoenix of heart issues. He was born Feb. 5, 1947, in Kalispell to Clarence and Vivian Johnson and was joined by brother, Bill and sisters, Connie and Mary. He attended FCHS class of 1965, joined the Navy serving on the nuclear submarine USS Stonewall Jackson.

After being honorably discharged he married Kathy Barry in 1967 and moved to Denver where their two sons, Chad 1972 and Scott 1973 were born.

Gary worked on the Alaska Pipeline in the 1970s. He owned and operated several businesses in Denver.

Gary and Kathy divorced in 1976, and he later married Marilyn, lived in Denver and later moved to Phoenix.

He was preceded in death by his parents and brother Bill.  

He is survived by Marilyn, sisters, Connie and Mary and stepsisters, Jackie, Marta, Brenda and Laura and stepbrother Mark. Also surviving are sons, Chad, Scott their wives and eight grandchildren.
