Marylane Heine, 91
Marylane Heine, 91, entered her eternal home with the Lord, on June 26, 2025, departing from her home of almost 60 years in Kalispell. She was born in Brooklyn, Iowa on June 22,1934, the oldest of two children born to Lester and Elsie Duffus. She married the love of her life, John Heine, another Iowa kid, in 1955, after meeting him when he came to watch the "fiery" player on the college basketball team. They enjoyed their 70th anniversary a few months ago. She and John had two sons Dave (Sandi) and Craig (Debbie). Grandmother of seven and great-grandmother of 15, were among her favorite roles in life. Grandchildren Loren (Keaton) Heine, Tyler (Jeanne) Heine, Brad (Laura soon to be) Heine, and Jenessa (Tyler) Klinker, Cole Amanda) Heine, Emilie (Stephen) Zeglen, and Brenna (Tayler) Macklin.
She was a schoolteacher by training, teaching for four years, until becoming a fulltime wife and mother. She always kept her love of teaching and was a children's Sunday school teacher for many years. Later one of her great joys was being a Bible Study Fellowship discussion group leader. Through the years, she kept the family tradition of taking others in when they needed a home and/or mentoring.
She was active in the equestrian community for some time, really enjoying her time with a ladies drill team. She was also a longtime sports fan, supporting her sons when they were kids. She and John became supporters of Stillwater Christian School and attended many sporting events of grandkids and great grandchildren. She was an avid college basketball fan, often able to share personal details about players or coaching staff, with anyone who would listen. This past March we had a four-generation bracket battle during March madness.
Mom loved ministering to ladies throughout the valley. These friendships came through her church activities, BSF, and other activities she was involved in. She liked to hear about the lives of her family, friends, and even mere acquaintances. She was truly a loving and great friend to many, encouraging them in their walk of faith and life in general.
She is already greatly missed by many people including her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. We miss her antics, humor, animated and fun personality, care and investment in our lives. Her daughters-in-law were very much "her girls" and she loved spending time with them whether on their girls' trips to cities starting with "S" or just shopping and doing life locally. A great testament to her love of people lies in her consistent daily calls to her widowed sister-in-law. Another testament to the amazing life she lived is a quote by her grandson. "Grammie was the best grandma a guy could ask for and she lived a long, good life. Yes, it’s sad and I gotta find somebody new to call when I’m truck driving."
A memorial service will be held Saturday, July 5 at 10:30 a.m. at Central Bible Church. Pastor Kent Morrison and Pastor Peter Barber are caring for the family and will be officiating. Johnson-Gloschat Funeral Home is caring for the family.
