Law roundup: Bear jam turns into a sticky situation

Flathead County Sheriff’s Office deputies received a call about a bear jam in Coram when purportedly 30 cars pulled over along the side of the road to gawk at the magnificence of a bruin in the wild, causing a traffic hazard. 

An urgent situation unfolded in Whitefish when a golf cart was reportedly stolen. A man told the dispatcher, “My name doesn’t matter, just send them,” and hung up. 

A woman at a Martin City watering hole reportedly tried to jump across the bar to attack an employee after they told her to calm down when she was being aggressive with other customers. Employees locked all the doors when she went outside. Only slightly deterred, she started banging on the doors.  

A vehicle allegedly struck a building on the northbound side of the courthouse Sunday afternoon, leaving two occupants severely injured. 

An entitled owner of a dog that reportedly bit someone’s pooch while they were out on a walk told the victim to “pick a different neighborhood to live in.” 

An intoxicated woman called deputies from Kalispell alleging a man, who had also been drinking heavily, threw water on her while she was sleeping.   

A man reportedly waltzed onto someone’s Kalispell property asking for drugs and alcohol, which concerned them because they had children in the house. 

Kids in a Chevy allegedly had the brilliant idea to start the night with a bang by throwing a lit firework into a roadside fireworks stand in Kalispell. 

A brown and white cow was spotted in the middle of the road in Columbia Falls. The owners were at the scene rounding them up. 

Two huskies allegedly barking at someone’s llama in Kalispell moved on to bothering their horses. The resident, who didn’t recognize the collarless dogs from the area, contained them in an empty chicken coop. They were taken to the shelter. 

A mailbox in Kalispell was reportedly damaged so that it couldn’t be opened and was covered in permanent marker. 

A man and woman in their 20s were reportedly arguing and hitting each other while she yelled about him grabbing her neck, putting her in a chokehold and body slamming her. 

Someone reportedly thought it was odd behavior for a dog to jump around, jump up, jump up and get down.
