Law roundup: Disagreement between neighbors gets heated
Boiling over in anger about a neighbor constantly parking on her Second Avenue property, a homeowner came up with the ingenious idea of blocking it off with an old water heater. There was only one problem: the water heater had quickly gone missing. The resident told the Columbia Falls Police Department that she suspected the neighbor of filching it, because after it disappeared the neighbor started parking on her property again. It was unclear how much hot water the phone call put the neighbor in, but officers spoke to both of them.
An ex-girlfriend showed up at a Frontage Road home one afternoon, kicked in the door and started stealing personal belongings. The victim told officers they had camera footage of the brazen home invasion.
Visiting from Arizona, a traveler was struggling getting to the grocery store to pick up their prescriptions. Without internet access, they were unable to summon an Uber or get the phone numbers of a taxi cab, so they called the emergency line looking for a ride or maybe contact information for transportation services.
After spotting a motorist slumped over inside his vehicle, a passerby alerted an officer to the situation.
Officers issued citations to two motorists following traffic stops on Ninth Street about an hour apart. Another motorist pulled over on Sixth Street later that day received a warning.
