CRANBROOK, British Columbia — Tait Orme hit a first inning three-run home run, but the Cranbrook Bandits had too much offense in a 13-6 victory in game one of a scheduled doubleheader Saturday.

Game two started on time, but inclement weather in the area forced a suspension after three innings with the Lakers leading 3-1. The game will resume Sunday.

Vinny Fiorentino went 4-for-5 as the Bandits (21-20) used a seven-run third inning to run away in game one. He tallied three RBIs and two runs scored.

The Lakers (31-24) started hot as singles from Beau Schultz and Liam Rech set Orme for his three-run blast to left field, giving Kalispell a 3-0 lead.

After Cranbrook responded with two runs in the top of the second, Kalispell extended their lead with an Orme RBI single. Miles Arrowsmith was then hit by a pitch to bring in another run and make it 5-2.

Fiorentino hit an RBI single during the high-scoring third inning to put the Bandits ahead 6-5, he later came home on a wild pitch.

In the fourth inning, Fiorentino singled again to make it 11-6. He also started on the mound for Cranbrook, allowing five runs on five hits. Ethan Greenwood threw 5 1-3 innings in relief, striking out five and allowing one run.

Loggers 9, Mariners 8

Mariners 13, Loggers 3

LIBBY — Libby’s Boe Miles hit a pinch-hit walk-off double in game one, while Mission Valley’s Cody Haggard went 2-for-4 with two RBIs in game two.

Miles two-run double in the bottom of the seventh capped off a four-run frame for the Loggers (14-32), trailed 6-0 in the fourth and 8-5 heading into the final inning.

Bransen Holzer drew a bases-loaded walk to cut the Mariners’ lead to 8-6, then Tanner Wolfe reached on an error that scored Aiden Rose before Miles stepped in.

Mission Valley (25-20) got three runs in the first thanks to a Paxton DuMont RBI single and a Brayson DuMont two-run double. Brayson DuMont finished with two doubles and three RBIs. Cody Haggard added an RBI triple in the seventh.

Cole Wadsworth threw 5 1-3 innings for the Mariners, allowing five runs on six hits. He fanned six batters.
