A Lakers fall 10-3 to Bandits Sunday
CRANBOOK, British Columbia — Given a reprieve when rain suspended Saturday’s game while Cranbrook was having a big inning, the Kalispell A Lakers couldn’t retake momentum in what became a 10-3 Legion baseball loss Sunday.
Saturday’s game was halted by weather after the Bandits scored four runs — helped by two, two-out errors from the Lakers — to lead 5-3 in the fourth inning.
When play resumed Sunday, the Lakers (31-23 overall, 11-9 in Western A games) managed one hit over the final three innings, by Tait Orme. The Bandits (23-21, 13-7 in league) then scored five times in the sixth, thanks in large part to three walks, a passed ball and two hit batters.
Kalispell outhit Crankbrook 8-5, though the Bandits took advantage of seven walks, three hit batters and four Laker errors (for six unearned runs). Cranbrook also won Saturday’s early game 13-6.
Orme had three hits for Kalispell; he, Miles Arrowsmith and Dillon Wink all drove in runs. Beau Schultz had two hits and Liam Rech scored twice.
