Rexford woman killed in ATV accident

A Rexford woman was killed Sunday in an ATV accident near Eureka in Lincoln County.

The 71-year-old woman was the passenger on a Can-Am Quadricycle driven by a 70-year-old Rexford man, according to an accident report from Montana Highway Patrol.

The ATV was traveling west on Yaak River Road at about 1:25 p.m. when it veered off the right side of the road. The driver overcorrected to the left and the ATV flipped several times before it stopped.

The passenger died at the scene of the crash and the driver was transported to Logan Health Medical Center in Kalispell. Neither was wearing a helmet and speed is a suspected factor in the crash, according to the report. 

Road conditions were dry.
