Bothwell, Casserilla lead Riders to Tuesday win
Ty Bothwell and three relievers combined on a five-hitter, Xavier Casserilla drove in three runs and the Glacier Range Riders beat Missoula 6-2 Tuesday night in Pioneer League baseball.
Casserilla had a two-run single in the first inning and drove in another run with a base hit as the Range Riders (3-4 this half) took a 5-0 lead in the second inning at Glacier Bank Park.
That was more than enough for Bothwell, who went six innings with five hits — including a two-run homer from Roberta Pena, his league-leading 28th — and one walk allowed. He struck out seven.
Jason Franks, Jacob Hasty and Rayne Supple all threw an inning of hitless relief.
Kingston Liniak had an RBI single in the first inning and a sacrifice fly in the second for Glacier. In the fifth, catcher Angel Mendoza hit his fourth home run, a solo shot.
