Missoula rallies past Range Riders
Jack Lynch hit a three-run homer for the Glacier Range Riders, but a three-run seventh inning lifted the Missoula Paddleheads to a 6-5 victory Friday at Glacier Bank Park.
The Range Riders (20-38 overall, 3-7 in the second half) started out hot with a pair of RBI single in the first inning from Eli Paton and Kingston Liniak, setting the stage for Lynch’s sixth homer of the year to clear the bases.
Missoula (40-18, 7-3) found their offense in the third inning as Colby Wilkerson came home on an error as Mike Rosario stole second. Roberto Pena sent Rosario home with a single to right field, then a bases-loaded walk to Taylor Smith made it 5-3.
Missoula took the lead in the seventh as Pena came home on a L Barry single to right, then Smith sent Barry and Adam Fogel home to give the Paddleheads the lead.
Ryan Wentz went 5 2-3 innings for Missoula, allowing five runs on six hits. He struck out seven.
Sean Brennan went three innings in the start for Glacier, allowing three runs on three hits and fanning four.
The teams continue their series Saturday at 7 p.m. and close it out Sunday at 1 p.m.

After playing to a 6-6 tie, Roberto Pena sent the Missoula Paddleheads home winners with a 2-1 knockout round victory over Xavier Casserilla and the Glacier Range Riders.
Jack Lynch finished 2-for-4 with three RBIs for the Range Riders, including an RBI double in the fourth and a two-run single in the fifth that tied the game at six.
Missoula got a trio of homers from C Wilkerson, Mike Rosario and Adam Fogel in the fifth to take a 6-3 lead.
Nick Parker started for the Paddleheads, going 4 1-3 innings and allowing six runs on six hits. He fanned four.
Luke Schafer went five innings for Glacier, allowing six runs (four earned) on nine hits and striking out four.
