Can't trust land trusts
In response to the July 7 profile on the Flathead Lake Trust, may I warn everyone that nature conservancy land trusts are revocable.
Another problem with them is they artificially escalate real estate prices by temporarily removing land from the market. There is an excellent explanation on investopedia.com. One can draw their own conclusions as to the lack of benefits these nonprofits produce.
The last thing our county needs is outside secretive investors hiding behind the curtain, picking their personal housing sites. As a former Jackson Hole resident told me, “Jackson Hole was rediscovered with a nature conservancy trust, which resulted in the billionaires pushing out the millionaires.”

Helping hands
I am a recent widow and have had quite a task putting the legal details together to live my new life. I have had excellent help from two wonderful women.
The first person is in the Social Security Office in Kalispell. Her name is Danelle. She is patient beyond words and has done everything possible to help put my affairs in order.
The second super helper is Julie in Rep. Ryan Zinke’s office in Kalispell. I had tried for months to get a response to finalize my legal situation. Julie was right on it worked her magic to resolve my problem.
We in Kalispell are more than fortunate to have such excellent support from government employees. Thank you, ladies.
